Play Therapy
Children learn best through play. Whether virtually or in person, I engage with children in play through a variety of different tools. These include but are not limited to sand play, puppets, video games, board games, and others.
Art Therapy
Children often express themselves best through the arts. In art therapy, children draw, make crafts, paint, and create things out of clay to help express themselves
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps children challenge their thoughts and change their behaviours as a result of that. CBT also helps children with anxiety with exposure to the things they are scared of.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP)
ExRP is the gold standard treatment for OCD. ExRP helps expose children with OCD to the thing they are scared of and prevents them from doing the compulsions that come with OCD.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a subtype of CBT. Through various metaphors and other tools, it helps children learn how to live a meaningful life and make choices that are aligned with their values. ACT is also often used in conjunction with ExRP to help children with OCD.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy helps children externalize their problems and write a new narrative to their challenges
